Vibrating Usb

ps3 dualshock pad...?

So i have myself a dualshock pad and it works a treat. Works on more games than online lists tell you. e.g. Civ Rev and The Bourne Conspiracy. Anyways it came with a small USB stick. Now i can only assume this is to tell the pad when to vibrate. I was just wondering if this is correct because nowhere had i heard of the small stick that comes with it!

Well did you buy it from Sony or a other retail store or off the streets? I'm not sure but there might be different versions of the dualshock 3. If you unplug the USB from the controller does it stop the vibrate function? Did you buy the controller for less then it usually is? If you bought it for a really cheap price it's probably bot blutooth.
