What Linux Distribution would be the best for an older laptop?
I tried installing Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Mepis distros but none of them would install correctly. The specs of the notebook are:
Gateway Solo 2500
Pentium II
Windows 98
2GB drive
32mb ram
It looks as though you are going to be somewhat limited. I suggest Damn Small Linux (DSL) or Puppy Linux.

One thing is for sure, using either of these that old laptop will never have run so fast.
