just wandering if i can update my software on a sd card and download it to the tv

Umm, you don't NEED to update the software on a TV set like you do on a computer....

It isn't going to thwart viruses...

You ONLY update software IF you are having a SPECIFIC problem, and they have designed SPECIFIC software to repair that SPECIFIC problem..

I have had some idiots that uploaded software for the sake of it, and other idiots that uploaded software from the wrong model onto their TV sets and RUINED the Signal board ! Cost was $500 to them.
And NO....the manufacturer did not pick up the bill.

IF you are smart, you CONTACT the manufacturer with your problem FIRST, and they will send out the CORRECT software for your problem, OR send out a Tech with the correct information about your problem.

That way, if the software crashes the system, your manufacturer picks up the tab....

DON'T do it because you think it'll improve your TV set...it won't.
