is there a away to charge laptop without adapter cable?

i have an hp laptop and this is the 2nd time they had to send me a new adapter cable. even when its plugged in it wont charge. they mailed me a new one but it wont be here for 2 wks. but i need to get to some files on the laptop by monday.

As far as I know, there's no other way to charge a laptop.

If you're in a rush, I would ask around and see if any friends/family/co-workers have a similar AC adapter that you could use. If not, buying another one while waiting for the one from HP to arrive might be your only other option.
